Retro Roll..........The Forties

As the month of September winds down, so does the hustle and bustle of the various fashion weeks held in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Throughout the past few weeks, it has been nearly impossible to miss the retro-inspired collections that so many designers have turned out; the fashions of the forties, fifties, and sixties are clearly back. But did they ever go out? Seeing the cuts and colors of these iconic eras walking modern runways just goes to show the timelessness of these exquisite fashions.

We're channeling the glamour and dazzle of the forites today by showcasing the works of Jason Wu, Behnaz Sarafpour, and Zac Posen. These three designers took high-waisted wide-leg pants, elegantly embellished sweaters, sweetheart necklines, collared blouses, and silks and satins to turn out creations that evoke images of Ingrid Bergman, old radios, and 1940 Chevys in onlooker's heads.
